Labscape Customizes Laboratory Containment Room
/In many laboratories, the mixing of powders is a normal practice. The mixing process can pose a multitude of hazards such as:
- Fine dust particles which are not detectable, can be spread to other work areas
- Poor ventilation which can lead to respiratory problems if inhaled, even in small amounts
- Flammable powders that can ignite if exposed to heat, flames or sparks
- Compounds coming in contact with metal surfaces or other material which can cause an explosion
Recently Labscape was contacted by an automotive parts supplier in search of a powder mixing laboratory space. In our factory, we custom designed and built a laboratory containment room. This containment room was constructed with an epoxy powder coat steel exterior and chemical resistant interior liner. A built in blower and filter system was also included, but is not shown.
